| Description | I am President of the North Texas German Shepherd Rescue. There are 4 of us involved, all members of FT.Worth GSDC. We formed this rescue earlier this year when both local breed rescues quit. We get calls from all over and if we can help, we do. We mainly concentrate on telephone referrals, so screening is done on the phone (not the best way but better than nothing)! When I have over 10 dogs on my books I run ads in local newspapers. We look to place dogs in family-type homes or with people looking for companions. We do not adopt out to breeding situations or guard dogs. Prospective owners must have fenced yard. Dogs are free, unless they've been fostered, but we do ask for donations. We are presently waiting for our incorporation to become official. |
